He went by the name mc EZ at the time of his first single in 1988. A short while after and one name change later Craig Mack was signed to Sean Diddy Comb's Bad Boy Records and was the first artist to release an album on the powerhouse label. The album Project Funk da World had a bunch of heavy hits with Flava in ya Ear being the highest ranking release reaching number 9 on the US Billboard charts back in 1994.
